VINTAGE IS THE NEW NEW

This is something I'm really interested in trying. I love wearing t-shirts and I’m thinking if I could make some of them look vintage, it would add a cool effect. What do you think?

Fabricate a Vintage T-Shirt

You will need:
¼ c sodium carbonate washing soda
2 c salt
1 pack fine-grit sandpaper
1 new t-shirt (start with one size larger it shrinks)

Step 1: Mix together the washing soda and salt.

Step 2: Wash the shirt with some other stuff you are trying to age, be sure to set on the highest temperature. After the wash starts dump in the soda/salf mixture and your usual detergent.

Step 3: After it’s done, dry the shirt on high heat. Then mix up another, smaller batch of soad and salt, and repeat the whole cycle three to five times, drying on high heat after each wash.

Step 4: Buff out the logo using the sandpaper by swiping in a circular motion.

THE GREEN-EYED MONSTER

I got this quote from an article I was reading and found it to be pretty true. I can’t remember the name of the article but I do remember the quote. I hope it helps you, as much as it did me, to look at the silly side of green envy.

“There’s no sense in being jealous: If so-and-so didn’t get whatever honor, talent, boyfriend, apartment or job that you covet, you weren’t going to be given it instead!”

ITS BEGINNING TO SMELL A LOT LIKE CHRISTMAS

This smells so good you have to try it! I’ve listed the super easy recipe below so now you have no excuse. This would also make an inexpensive holiday gift for friends and family… I see a vision of mason jars floating in my head.

Ingredients:

1 orange or just the orange peel
1/2 cup of cranberries
1 tablespoon of whole cloves
3 sticks of cinnamon or a small handful of small pieces of cinnamon
A pinch of grated nutmeg (not a must)

Cut the orange into quarters and mix all the ingredients in a saucepan with water filled to the top.

Put it on the stove with the lowest heat setting to simmer and that’s it!

You will need to refill the water occasionally, you don't want the water to completely evaporate.

After some time the mix will turn brown however, it will continue to smell good for weeks.

Enjoy!

MISQUOTES

Hi guys, I found the website to be really interesting so I thought I would share it.

I love reading and along with reading comes some great quotes. If you visit my blog a lot you may notice the shuffle of my favorite quotes over on the right, anyways this website lists some of the top misheard and misquoted movie lines. I find it very interesting how popular a movie line can become even if it's never said in the movie. For example ask almost anyone what movie and character says, "Luke, I am your father" and they will say Darth Vader in Star Wars, but is that really what he says... click on the link and check it out for yourself.

HANDMADE CHRISTMAS BANNER

Happy holidays!

I wanted to share with you this new Christmas banner I made. It took me longer than expected, but that seems to be the norm around this time of year. I felt like doing some coloring but am well aware that drawing big block letters is not my expertise so I cheated, just a little.

To make this banner I printed out light grey letters on white card-stock, outlined them in red marker and colored them in with a red colored pencil. I finished it off with wrapping green yarn around the edges and stringing them together.
