MOTHERS DAY

For Mother’s Day each year my sister and I usually have a professional picture taken of us and frame it for my mom. This is one we took back in 2005. Of course when you have professional pictures done you get several copies so I decided to scrapbook this one.

Most of the paper is used is from Crate Paper Flea Market and Paper Heart. On the right side I used some new mini stencils I bought from Heidi Swapp I believe in the patterns collection and covered it in gesso then sprayed it with vibrant turquoise Dylusions Ink Spray. Lastly I added the embellishments just from what I had on hand.

I’m still learning how to add different textures and include more embellishments on my pages but overall I’m happy with the end result. What do you think? Do you have any suggestions or new techniques you’ve learned?

DISTINCTLY DYLUSIONAL

Hi guys,

I’m trying to get into art journaling because I’ve seen some youtube videos that make it look like so much fun! Of course I want to run out to the store and purchase everything being suggested but I’ve resisted and only purchased an art journal. I’ve been experimenting around with things I already own like paint, sprays and stencils and things are going OK but I’m not sure I’m capturing the essence of art journaling. Then I found this book – Distinctly Dylusional and am debating whether I should buy it or not. I’m not sure if it’s just going to be another book of beautiful art journaling pages with various supplies I should run out and buy or if it actually contains step by step guides on how to perfect this imperfect art using supplies you might possibly already own.

Have any of your used this book before? Should I buy it?

EASTER AT GRANDMAS TAKE TWO

Well here we go much better don't you think. This time I cut out the words Easter and painted over them to give it that frosted feel. I used more embellishments and better paper choices. What do you think?

It's going to be hard to decided if I pass this one along to my sister in her album or keep it for myself.

EASTER AT GRANDMAS

Hi, I've completed another 12x12 and wanted to share it with you guys. I struggled with this page, it was beautiful in my head but didn't come out like I had imaged.

I printed out the words Easter on my cricut on white lines paper and painted over it with watercolor. Watercolor is new to me and something I'm trying to play around with more and am not completly happy with these results but I moved forward anyways. I painted half of the background sheet in pink watercolor to add some more color. I like the print of the washi tape but I'm not crazy on the placement. Overall I'm satisfied with the page but next time I will make sure I do some things differently.

I'm not sure if I mentioned this before but I'm making a childhood album for my sister and I have two of these pictures so I might be making another page very soon. I hope it turns out better. Until next next keep calm and craft on.

LIFE ALBUM

New album up for sale! This album can be used in multiple ways however when I created it I was envisioning it as a smash book. It has six dividers; live, love, laugh, dream, explore, remember. The pages are held in the album by 3 rings as you can see and they allow you to easily move pages around in any order you like. I've made some of the pages pocket pages while others have great spots for journaling. There are several tags and hidden stamps throughout. Check out more pictures on etsy if you're interested in buying. Thanks

YOU ARE MY SUNSHINE

This card was so much fun to make, and for those of you that don't know yellow is my favorite color. The stamp in the middle of this card is from Stampin' up and I added a little yellow bead in the middle of the O on you. I added some polkadot ribbon to the top and bottom of the card to match the paper underneath the stamped paper, and that's it. What do you think?
